Grimm's Fairy Tale Tier List

I read the first 20 stories from the Grimm's Fairy Tales and put them on a tier list. For those who don't know, a tier list is a way to rank things. S tier is the best rank and F tier is the worst. Each tier is also individually ranked from best being on the left, and worst being on the right. These rankings are just based off my personal opinion. I judged these stories based off of how much I enjoyed the story and how interesting I thought it was. From reading all of these fairy tales, I found some similarities between some. For example, many fairy tales involve a King or Prince falling in love with a Maiden or Princess. Similarly, there are fairy tales involving a Princess and a suitor of some sort. I found many of these kinds of stories average and a little plain unless there were more interesting elements, such as in “The Three little Men in the Wood” and “Faithful John”. One particular story I enjoyed was "T he Story of the Youth who went forth to learn what Fear was....

A Review of "Art of Magic: The Gathering--Innistrad"

“Art of Magic: The Gathering—Innistrad” by James Wyatt tells the story of Innistrad, a plane (world) in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. You may think that Magic is just some card game and this book won’t be very interesting. If you think this, then you are wrong. “Art of Magic: The Gathering” is an excellent book for anyone who likes the fantasy and horror genres, even if they don’t play Magic.             Innistrad is a plane where humans are slain by vampires, slaughtered by werewolves, and haunted by the spirits of the dead. Ghoulcallers reanimate corpses to do their bidding, and skaberen stitch the limbs of dead humans into artificial lifeforms called skaabs. Humans depend greatly on Avacyn, an angel who was created to protect them from these horrors. Avacyn has an entire religion created around her. Her high church is in the city Thraban. Her angel...

Vortex: A Warning about Monopolies in the Age of Modern Technology

Vortex is the second novel in the Insignia trilogy by SJ Kincaid. Set in the future United States; the peoples and governments of the world are either directly under the control of or influenced by twelve corporate giants called the Coalition of Multinationals. These companies are exploitative and invasive companies that control almost all aspects of human life. There are companies that through manipulative technology and a few well-placed bribes own the rights to all the water and almost all the crops in the world they then charge fees to anyone who drinks water and grows crops. Manufacturing,  defense, communication, energy, and essentially all other products and services are also controlled by these twelve companies and their subsidiaries. There unchecked greed and corruption have eliminated the middle class and helped develop the creation of a police state to protect the wealthy.     Humans have the ability to send drones throughout the sola...

Webtoon Thrillers / Horrors

By Grace To Webtoons are digital comics that can be accessed through the app or online on the website. Chapters or episodes are uploaded weekly. I visit several comics regularly, but here are reviews of my thoughts so far on three unfinished thrillers / horrors that I have been following: Escape Room The protagonist, Sean, gets drunk one night and wakes up in an escape room. He learns that it isn't a regular escape room, but rather a game of life or death. However, Sean isn't a "normal" person either, and neither are the other people he meets in the escape room.  This is one of the Webtoons that I believe is really well thought out. Not only are the escape room puzzles and solutions, each character presented has their own personality. Sean is a social outcast because he looks at everything from a rational rather than a moral perspective. When he is paired with this escape room, his choices reflect his personality perfectly - he kills when he has to. I don't think ...
